Weather you agree with the political policies of Israel or not there is 5 things that we can take away from both a human relations, leadership, and overall business stand point from the way they conduct their affairs in the global economy. The main purpose of this post is comparison between Israel’s behaviors as a country and to how we conduct ourselves in our daily lives. I really think we could take something out of their book
1. Decisiveness
Israel is one of the few countries in the world that is decisive on policy. Weather you like their policy or not if they decide to attack they do it bottom line. You have to respect that. If we as people can be more decisive in our decision-making we will live with much less regret. We will also gain ultimate respect for being decisive from the people around us even if they don’t agree with us. The best leaders in this world are the people who get things done and are decisive about it.
2. Conviction
How many countries in this world can stand up to the powerful power of public opinion? Not many, weather you agree or not with Israel building in the West Bank take it to the bank when I say they will do what they think is right as a government. If you have strong conviction about doing something in life why can’t you take a page out of their book and stick to your guns and make things happen even if people are against you or people tell you that it won’t work or they put you down.
3. Passion
I have been to Israel and I am not going to say that everybody in that country is in agreement with the decision’s that the ruling regime makes but what they are passionate about is their way of life. Israel has this universal “me against the world” mentality in which they act based on instinct. I know sometimes this instinct could be looked upon in the global community as cruel and immoral but you could just feel the passion and grit in their belief system. At what point in our lives did we as people lose this passion or this me against the world mentality when being faced with a problem? Why is our first instinct to cry or drop down into a depressed mood when faced with a problem that overwhelms us? Why do we have such problems making the tough crucial decision at a crunch time? Why are we short on passion? If Israel can survive in their circumstances so can we. Our first instinct should be to take our problems and head on and relish the daily challenges that life throws our way.
4. Action Instead Of Words
When you look at Israel from a words stand point, they really don’t talk a lot of shit. When they have something to say they usually say through action. Now we could dispute all day if that action is warranted or not but the point of the matter is they didn’t talk about it but instead they did it. How many times in our lives do we tell someone we are going to do something and for some reason it just doesn’t get done? Be more about the action instead of the talk and you will be respected more even if they don’t agree with your action.
5. Balls and Courage
Israel has some major balls; I think we can all agree on that. Sometimes in life making a difficult decision requires balls and confidence and sometimes we can’t be decisive in that decision because we worry too much about the outcome. Israel does an amazing job of objectively making crucial decisions on a daily basis and having the utmost confidence that it can carry out those plans. If you agree or disagree with those decisions is a totally up to you but if we as people can live life with as much courage and guts as Israel no matter what we are doing in life we will be respected.
